We often come to el cotillo and like to sit in the stone circles to protect ourselves from the wind , we also like to watch the wildlife that lives in the little stone circles,i.e , lizards , mice and watch the birds perch. We have heard, some idiots have bulldozed down these circles ??.I dont know if this is Council lead ,or someones elses idea, but i would like to know , who gives permission for this and what about the enviroment for these spiecies of animals.

Unfortunately, it was a decision by La Olivia Council that these stone circles are not part of the natural habitat of the island, therefore they were removed and once a week a JCB comes to check and any new ones built are demolished. They were being used for activities which I am not going to specifically mention!
So, you need to obtain a windbreaker or two if you want to enjoy the beach here without being blown away or sand blasted.

we now sit onAs naturists we used to use the stone circles particularly on the stoney area near El Cotillo ,however in recent years we have found them in a disgusting filthy state and won’t use them now , they may look ok at a glance but as you smooth the sand to lay your towel we have found the most disgusting things . We now sit on the clean sand in the open or a wind break if required .

Coastal law forbids construction of stone corrals, there are white concrete markers denoting the zone around the coasts.

the white cones are to stop cars going to near the beach, they have nothing to do with the stone circles.

How do you know, its forbidden to build anything on the beach, the AYT are on about closing the beaches off along the line of white markers, with boulders, as alot of campers have removed the original stone so they can drive closer to the water.

In 2007 the AYT, removed all the stone corrals from the beaches, dumped half the stone in a dry river bed in a zone where its prohibited to dump material, in a protected area, and the rest of the stone from the corrals is dumped towards the lighthouse.

A serious question about naturism .
As I understand it there is no law against public nudity in Spain , very similar to England .
Fuerteventura being the island favoured by many naturists for its beautiful beaches.
My question is , while naturism is totally accepted on the beaches, Is it accepted inland away from the beaches and the coast , not only by the authorities but by the locals ?
While England is not the warmest of places it is becoming far more common to see naturists out in the countryside and is slowly becoming accepted by the general public.
