Job vacancy: Freelance Trainer in Office or Google (must speak English and Spanish). Applications from young Majoreros are also welcome. - 0 replies

Cyberion Posted by Cyberion in Jobs and careers in Corralejo on Sun Oct 13, 2019 9:36am

Hi Everyone

This is an initial call to see if anyone is interested in joining me in the first phase of a new venture on the Canary Islands

Tablet Academy International is a Spanish Company, newly registered on Fuerteventura, and owned by the same people who own one of the most reputable Teacher Training and Student Engagement companies in the UK, Tablet Academy. Tablet Academy (www.tablet-academy.com) works very closely with leading education technology suppliers including Apple, Microsoft, Google, HP, as well as providers of educational technology hardware such as drones, robots, tablets etc. in supporting education and digital inclusion. In the UK we train over 15,000 teachers a year and work with over 900 schools. Additionally we work with youth engagement organisations such as the Royal Air Force and UK Youth, and have Tablet Academy franchise offices in over 10 countries including France, Germany, Holland, Turkey and Abu Dhabi and are currently exploring the US and Canadian markets.

Now for an opportunity for ex-teachers, trainers, or young Majoreros who speak good English and love technology....

We are looking to support our key partners, in particular Microsoft and Google, in providing teachers across the Canary Islands with awareness and full user training in the use of technology to support teaching and learning, as well as working with groups of young people out of school in their local communities. We are initially looking for someone who is fluently bilingual in Spanish and English to work with us under a freelance contract. In the future this position, and others, may carry full-time employment status.

You will be working directly with me in creating and delivering programmes, as well as eventually growing the business across the Canaries, Balearics and mainland Spain.

The job is ideally suited for retired Teachers, Teaching Assistants and IT Trainers with a grounding in Microsoft Office/Office365, Minecraft, G Suite, coding etc.

If you understand the Spanish Education System and the classroom environment, even better,  and as such the job is also well suited for young Majoreros (male or female) who have completed a degree in Education or Computing and speak good English.

We would welcome someone of any age and nationality as long as they have a passion for technology and supporting young people, and have no fear about training others face to face in English and Spanish. Don't worry if you are not fully up to speed on the technology as training and online support will be provided.

You will be working directly with me and assisting me in starting and growing business opportunities across the Canaries and eventually the Balearics and mainland Spain.

If you are interested, send me a private message with a little bit of detail about yourself and we can meet for an initial chat. Remember that as we will be working across Fuerteventura and beyond you must have a driving licence and due to the fact we work with young people not have a criminal record.

Looking forward to hearing from you

Steve

Driving after Brexit

If there’s no deal, the Spanish government has said that valid UK licences will be recognised for 9 months after Brexit. You must start the process of exchanging your UK licence for a Spanish one before 1 November 2019 in order for the Spanish authorities to guarantee that your UK licence will be exchanged during the 9 month grace period.

Visit the Spanish Traffic Office website (in Spanish) for more information on the specific measures that have been put in place for UK licence holders until 1 November 2019.

Are there any dance classes in Fuerteventura? - 0 replies

Kath48 Posted by Kath48 in Things to do and places to go in Corralejo on Wed Oct 9, 2019 5:44pm

When I am on holiday in Fuerteventura I would like to go to any dance classes preferably Salsa/latin or ballroom etc.   In November I will be in the Costa Calma area, but am often in Corralejo.   If there are no classes do you know of any places which could run them - I have thought of moving to Fuerteventura but would love to teach there too, I have taught dance myself for many years and think it's the best social/exercise/fun thing to do!

Sun Loungers - 0 replies

Chris56 Posted by Chris56 in Where to buy things in Castillo Caleta de Fuste on Wed Oct 2, 2019 11:25pm

Hi I am looking for folding but sturdy sun loungers to buy. I want to be able to leave them in storage at the apartments I am staying in and be able to use them when we next visit. They have to be easy to fold and quite lightweight. Somebody told me about a Chinese shop on the way to the airport but I don't want to travel there if they don't stock them

Many thanks
