Hi, there is so much conflicting information online from agencies etc regarding the application process for a non lucrative visa.

After reading your replies can you confirm that this can be done by completing a property purchase and move across, then use the 90 day period to apply for our Visa(s) from Fuerteventura and return to the UK for your interviews? If this is correct, did you use this process or know anybody who has...

.... Also does the consulate keep your passport(s) for the duration of the application?

Any advise would be much appreciated

Mark & Nicky

Only just joined so somewhat late entering this discussion.

Mark & Nicky, No, buying a property does not allow you to move here or stay longer than the 90/180 days.  In order to apply for permission to reside here, you MUST first start the process in the UK by applying for a visa in the UK.

I ACTUALLY OFFER A HAND HOLDING SERVICE FOR THE BRITS TO GET RESIDENCIA.

AS YOU WAS NOT HERE BEFORE DEC. 2020 YOU CAN ONLY OBTAIN THIS VIA THE SPANISH CONSULATE IN ENGLAND WHICH YOU HAVE TO DO IN PERSON.

IF YOU RECEIVE A STATE PENSION THEN YOU CAN APPLY FOR AN S1 FORM WHICH WILL COVER YOU FOR YOUR HEALTH CARE OR YOU WILL NEED PRIVATE HEALTHCARE WHICH MUST BE FULL COVER ,NO EXCESS.

AFTER YOU HAVE YOUR VISA,THEN YOU CAN COME HERE AND ITS A VISIT TO POLICIA NACIONAL FOR YOUR TIE CARD WHICH IS VALID FOR 1 YEAR. 3 MONTHS BEFORE THIS ENDS YOU CAN THEN START THE PROCESS HERE TO APPLY FOR A 5 YEAR TIE.

Many thanks for your advise and information. We have had our appointment at the Spanish Consulate in London for our Non Lucrative visa so hopefully we will be travelling to Fuerteventura soon. We have already purchased a property as well. As part of your services can you assist us to apply for our TIEs once we are in Fuerteventura?

We will be driving from the UK and will require our car to be Spanish registered once in we are in Fuerteventura, can you also assist us with this?

Many thanks

Mark

HI MARK + NICKY,YES AND YES.

ONE OF THE THINGS YOU NEED FOR THE CAR IS A CERTIFICATE OF CONFORMITY.THIS STATES FROM THE MANUFACTURER THAT THE CAR IS IN THE SAME CONDITION AS WHEN IT LEFT THE WAREHOUSE AND HAS NOT BEEN MODIFIED IN ANY WAY. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THIS THEN WE HAVE TO GO TO A MECHANICAL ENGINNER WHO WILL GIVE YOU THE SAME REPORT AND CHARGES ABOUT 150E.

Mark & Nicky

If both, or one of you are pensioners, you can apply for an S1 Certificate in order receive full state healthcare here. If only one of you is a pensioner, you should be able to request as S1 for the other as a dependant. This is what I did for me and my spouse.

There is a lot of information here on obtaining an S1 and registering with the Spanish Social Services authority.

Good luck

When applying for a visa you must have taken out health insurance for a year.  Once you have your TIE, then you can register using your S1
