Hi All,

My wife and I are just starting the process in the UK to apply for a non lucrative visa. Does anyone have any contacts in the UK (consultant/agencies) that could assist us in making this process run as smooth as possible.

Many Thanks

Mark & Nicky

We are only starting process too.

We have obtained our medical certificate from gp and instructed police report.

Once we have this back we will send both to the Apostille for authenticity and arrange our visa appointment.

Hi Pauline,

Great news that you are starting the application process. Can I ask, have you already got a residence in Fuerteventura? Our plan is to buy a property after we receive our Visa so don’t have a Spanish address to put on the application form!!

Cheers M.

PS. As we are both in the UK and obviously if it is ok with you, do you think it would be beneficial to communicate via email to further assist each other through the process?

Hi,

We too will purchase later in the year and plan to lease for a few months to make  sure we choose the correct location.

Address is stumbling block for us.  I have tried to employ a Solicitor with the hope of using their address but have been unsuccessful.

Pauline

Happy to chat via email.  Might be good for support.

Have you checked through: Living in Spain - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)

The British Embassy in Spain normally keeps a list of specialists etc. that help, but I am not sure how accurate it is, and of course, it is far more up to date with processes that 'Facebook' and other sources of misinformation.

Also, beware of the few unscrupulous ex-pats, and others, who say they can help. Take your money and nothing.

Pauline

Do you have any friends and use their postal address until you visit to sort everything out in person.

Unfortunately we don't have any friends out there.

Really don't want to commit to a lease until we know we can fly.

I genuinely thought a Solicitor could help but they said no.

Remember you can travel here as a tourist for 90 days, so 3 months, and so all your paperwork. You could then get a holiday rental for a while and operate from there. Under exceptional  circumstances you might then get an extension to the 90 day rule. Or as for assistance from the Spanish Consulate in Manchester for example.

Unfortunately we cannot get access to the country from uk.

As soon as flights are back we will book ASAP.

Hi, there is so much conflicting information online from agencies etc regarding the application process for a non lucrative visa.

After reading your replies can you confirm that this can be done by completing a property purchase and move across, then use the 90 day period to apply for our Visa(s) from Fuerteventura and return to the UK for your interviews? If this is correct, did you use this process or know anybody who has. Also does the consulate keep your passport(s) for the duration of the application?

Any advise would be much appreciated

Mark & Nicky

Hi Mark,

I don't think we could be there as our passport would be with visa application.
