Is there scope for a steel fabrication business on the island

Hi I am from the UK looking to relocate to fuertventura to set my own business up there fabrication. Gates railings security bars and grills. Anyone know if I would have much success. Yours sincerely Graham.

Most fabrications are in aliminium. There are no raw materials on the island so everything is imported. I have waited nearly 4 weeks for a steel support bracket to be manufacured so you would need to understand how difficult it can be here.

Speaking Spanish is essential, good luck

Thanks for your response wow 4 weeks that's a long time. The only thing is that aluminium is quite expensive these days. Is aluminium preferred on the island for such as gates ext.

Everything is aluminium, steel is expensive.

I need steel specifically for the project, so its imported then manufactured, delivered..fitted.

Nothing here is readily available....its just the way it is....

I got word that an expat is retired soon he's got his own business fabrication. Planning a holiday next year on fuertventura to maybe meet up with him meanwhile learning Spanish.
