Me and my wife are looking to move to fuerventura in about 5-6 years tops we will both be retired with money to buy a property and have money to self support (hopefully £250,000 in bank) was wondering if you know the situation with brexit now we are (supposedly definitely) leaving how we stand becoming residents etc

Have a look on citizens advice bureau Spanish website they have lots of information on there, they have a Facebook page as well.

Reorient here is easier than you think but make sure you plan well in advance. If you take holidays over the next 5 years then begin the process and get something done well in advance such as setting up a Bank Account etc.
We finally move full-time over here in 2018 but had all paperwork and other things set up from 2011. Somethings can take a while. Given your time schedule I would make use of the 12 month BREXIT transition period to get a non-resident NIE and set up a Bank Account as this will make life easier after the transition period. You will have some official paperwork to convert to whatever residency format UK Citizens will have. I am thinking we will have automatic conversion of EU NIE to Foreign National residency card, but who knows.
To reiterate. Get your ducks in a row well in advance and be prepared to take time with lots of paperwork. Main priority get a NIE and Bank Accouny. Without this you can do NOTHING.
