Amazon firestick

We had the same problem but solved it (sort of) by subscribing to a VPN. I think it works by blocking your signal so it doesn’t know where you are, as apparently BBC & ITV are not available abroad, even with the Firestick (No, I didn’t know that either!) We can now get the channels although we get a lot of buffering which is frustrating sometimes. Still can’t get Netflix though, which I’ve been told is because our subscription is a UK one.(?) 

As you can tell, I’m not very ‘techie’, I’ve just muddled my way through, so I’m interested in other replies to see if we can improve our viewing. Hope this helps a bit!

Hi there, many thanks for the info. We actually got a VPN (UK ex pat vpn) and can get loads of useless channels plus Channel 4, but only itv through vpn Internet, and No BBC or Channel 5.atall. This is strange because normally no BBC or itv means no channel 4 also.!whereas we Do Have Ch4???  Ivm at a loss¡!!!!!!!!!! 

We bought a tv box from fuerte Wi-Fi when we sorted our Wi-Fi with them, box works fine with all uk channels along with all sky and bt sports 👍

Unfortunately we are not allowed put a dish on our apartment block although there is a massive one there already for all the German channels??? The amazon stick seems to work well locally once you have fibre(which we have), but I don't understand why we are getting Channel 4 and not itv, ch5, or bbc. 

We haven’t a dish it’s plugged into the router, why don’t you contact fuerte Wi-Fi and see what they can advise👍

The Firestick TV works fine over here. I have 4. One in the bedroom and one in the living room at home as well as 2 in our other property.

I get full BBC iPlayer, ITV, Channel 4 and 5 as well as Pluto TV (UK version).

You have to ensure that your VPN is set up correctly and always runs in the background. It is difficult to help without knowing what VPN software you are using. It sounds like you don't have a VPN, as a VPN does NOT provide channels, it nearly fools the Firestick into thinking it is in the UK.

Many thanks to you and all for your ideas and assistance over the last few days re the amazon fire stick. I eventually got it sorted by going back to square one and reloading everything. Time consuming, yes(2 and a half hours), but all in place now and working the way it should. Thanks again folks, and thanks to The Forum.
