Hello again. I live in the UK and have a property in Corralejo that I rent out, so I need an account that pays the direct debits (taxes, water, etc) and receives the rents. I've been with the BBVA for almost 20 years but as I've now cleared the mortgage, I pay charges of 160 euros annual fee. Sadly, I don't speak good enough Spanish to discuss with a non-English speaking bank person.

As a non-resident unfortunately your bank charges will be high with any bank. I have been with BBVA for a few years now, but as a resident I was able to qualify for their free banking.
I have also used Caixa and Sabodell, neither of whom I was happy with. What you could do is go to other banks´ websites and see if they show their charges. Of course you could also converse with them by email and use a translate app
