I have bought a house in fuerteventura costa de Antigua. I keep asking my solicitor for who supplies me electricity and water and account nos. She does reply. I've only stayed in my house for 1week in February. Water took €61 out my bank .I'm assuming this is to set it up. This month they took €19 I haven't used any water. How does thus work. I also don't know who supplies my electricity and my account no. Any help knowing how to find this info would be appreciated. Thanks guys

If your abogada does not reply then you must go to her office.  It wasn't Beatrice by any chance?

Your electricity is probably supplied by Endesa.  You should have received an invoice. On your bank statement it will be as a payment to "Aduedo de Endesa"

Your water might be supplied by Antigua Agua.  They supply Caleta, but not sure if they include Costa de Antigua.  They're office is on the road to Triquivijate on the left hand side.  If it's not them it will probably be Caafa.

Hi, if your using water when not on the Island then You could have a problem, are you sure it’s not a standing charge ? €61 for a week is a lot of water so I’m suspecting you have an issue that needs to be looked at. As a rule you should always turn your water off at the mains when not in your property. Do you have a key holder that can do this for you ? Good luck.

The 61€ would be for setting the account up - not using water.

Our bill was 19€ so I would query that

A friend had something similar and found a small leak in the toilet system. It ended up simply replacing a washer. Also, there is normally a standing order for both the water and electricity meter.  We pay 10.63 Euro per month for the water meter and 19.00 Euro for electricity. If your place is within a complex, sometimes the complex administration has a contract with the water supplier and you pay this as part of your community charge.

Remember, you will also have a standing charge for your electricity meter.

As mentioned in another post ENDESA handles most of the electricity supply, but there are other smaller companies.

Best to check on your bank statements.

If you call in at Agua de Antigua on the Triquivijate road you just need to give them your address and they'll be able to tell you your account number.  They don't usually speak English, or only a little bit, so be prepared.

Endesa is usually shown on the bank statement.  If you are on a complex can you ask neighbours?

Hi if you live in a complex ask reception to switch of water to apartment when you leave for a long time. Also switch off your electricity at the mains. Very east to do. I as a single person only pay 10 to 12 euros a month for water. Electricity included in the community fee but it is changing to electricity meters also due to increasing costs. I live in costa de Antigua
