Good morning guys, I have my own place on the island, but just wandering what things are like there at the moment as I am looking to book the first available flight over to get a much needed break from this new normal.

Actually it really depends where you live. Yep, Corralejo is full of some idiots who totally flaunt all the rules.  I don't believe there are greedy landlords - everybody has to live and you either have a mortgage or rent to pay. Let's face it it is the Banks that are the greedy ones, not the landlords with mortgages, and we are lucky we don't have thieves like UK businesses who furlough staff, have the government pay their wages and then have the staff work anyway. Still enough of that back to my reply.

In La Oliva and Villaverde, things are a little more relaxed. You need to wear a mask if you cannot maintain a distance of 2m whilst walking on the street but otherwise, you are OK. When entering shops you need to wear a mask and the shops provide hand-gel for you. Some even have a one-way system in place and there is a limit as to how many people are there at any one time.

I have Asthma, and like others with a respiratory problem am excused from wearing a mast but you will need to prove my condition, so carry my prescription with me in case I am challenged.

Sitting at tables outside is fine and wearing a mask is recommended (some do, some don't). Restaurants have cut down to 50% occupancy indoors now but I see hardly anyone wearing a mask when sitting at the table.

No real problems with supermarkets, petrol stations.

I live in La Oliva and to be honest, I am so used to things now I don't give the changes a second thought. When I go out I  wear a mask around my chin just in case and raise it over my mouth and nose when entering a shop or in a crown - no big deal. If I have problems breathing I take it off.

No real problems with supermarkets, petrol stations or shops. The beaches are open but some don't allow swimming, and of course still social distancing but I have yet to see anyone wear a mask on the beach.  Let's face it our beaches are so large that if you can't find 2 meters of space there is something wrong. :-)

I must say I find it much more relaxing and everyone, well certainly in the rural towns and villages just accept the conditions and get on with it.

As the previous reply say, most of the problems are with a few people (mainly non-Spanish) in Corellejo and other large urban areas thinking rules don't apply to them.

Hope you get to come back soon and get some relaxation. I know I won't be going back to the UK for a long time. Here is certainly one of the safest places on the planet when it comes to Covid-19.

Take Care and Stay Safe.

Just wondering are people wary of GB tourists visiting Fuerteventura? Is it an issue and be honest?

I think people in general are welcoming and want the island to get back to normal - certainly for the business owners. Your temperature will be checked at departure and on arrival - and there are various other new rules -
