Hi, Can anyone fill me in as to why there seem to be a large number of properties for sale on Tamaragua & Pueblo Canario?

I seem to remember that when the new motorway FV1?, was being constructed there was a lot of upheaval & a lot of people with property there were not happy.

Have seen a couple of properties there we like, but unsure as to whether there is an "issue" with the location now....

Thanks

I doubt the FV1 Autovia was an influencing factor, in some instances such as in La Caldereta it is a selling point. Maybe in harsh times, people need the money and as such are keen to sell. Or they see little development in terms of 'local' facilities and so want to move on. There could be any number of reasons. Best to ask the seller why they are selling, or estate agents why they have so many on their books (if you can believe them). :-)

Hi Wolfe... We purchased off-plan one of the 1st releases on Tamaragua back in 2004.. The overall development was never fulfilled to the plans the developer offered. There should have been Bars, Restaurants & a large swimming pool etc which never materialized as well as the Golf course opposite never really got off the ground?  They're a very good build but being that little too far out from Coralejo put buyers off.. I had our Villa for 12 years & enjoyed the property very much but eventually sold & moved down to Caleta De Fuste which is obviously very close to the airport & amenities..

Thanks for your reply, have stayed on Pueblo Canario a few times, and enjoyed it. Trying to decide between a "holiday home " or retirement property...

Different criteria to fill, just don't want to buy in an area that has issues...

I guess it’s also depends on what you’re looking for regarding amenities.. If you’re a social animal looking for a variety local bars, shops within easy access then I would be looking more towards Coralejo Town where there’s plenty to choose from.
Alternatively Caleta has an a variety of affordable properties & plenty of easy accessable amentities.. I enjoyed Coralejo but much happier with Caleta and will be looking in the next 3 years to live there..

I agree with Joanne. I lived in Caldereta for a while my retirement home was being built. I think it is all down to personal choice and what you want. I enjoyed our time in Caleta. It was not too busy as Corralejo in terms of bars and restaurants but certainly had enough to keep me going. The only reason I moved is that I wanted a very rural home with peace, quiet, tranquillity.
